THE STORY
THE WORLD OF THE METAHUMANS
The year is 2050, the world has made leaps in terms of technology and science but steps back in humanity. 'Situations' as politicians would describe them are a regular occurrence. Civil rights are on the rise again due to the ever-growing discourse between people. Hope for everyday man is fleeting. The streets are dark, damp and lonely. Man must persevere before all hope is lost. Dr. Novac knows how bad it is and sees the Metahumans as a symbol of hope and protection that no matter your background you will be able to support.
BRIEF OVERVIEW
Dr. Novac who works for Captech has been working on serums to help defeat mankind's greatest weaknesses. After countless setbacks, he finally is approved to make and test them. Making his journey to Titan all those years ago suddenly all make sense.
The 'heroes' are most unlikely with Novac targeting specific people who he believes can control and will not be overwhelmed by their new abilities. The likes of orphans, prisoners and the tormented are usually his first point of call. These twelve people will never be the same.
THE CHARACTERS
Dr Novac- The creator of The Metahumans, the serums have been his life's work. With the world being a tense dark place Novac believes that The Metahumans can be a symbol for change.
Death- Thomas Henry is a family man who falls on hard times with the loss of his job, he turns to crime in order to provide for his family after being locked up for two years Novac meets him and tells him "you will control mans greatest weakness". Thomas accepts to take the serum in exchange for a large sum of money to help his family. He becomes a controller of death and with this ultimate power comes more dark days for Thomas.
The Soldier - Jack Price the soldier with morals and how they cost him. After a terrorist holds children hostage he is given the order to drop a missile of the building to take out the terrorist he refuses, the hostages live and weeks later another terrorist incident occurs which wreaks havoc and Price is blamed worldwide resulting in his arrest and problems at home too. Novac gives him a chance of redemption which he jumps at to become the ultimate soldier.
Beast Hunter- Zira Vimbai works in her village day in and day out for her family and her unborn child. Her husband is the first beast she encounters, he beats her daily and this leads to some horrific scenes for her and from there she decides to join The Akashingha and all-female group fighting poachers after she takes some drastic actions leading to a global reputation. Novac meets her and gives her the ability to be one with animals and to heighten the abilities she already has.
Fire Starter - Chris king is on his honeymoon with his wife visiting all the beauty nature has to offer when visiting White Island disaster strikes the volcano erupts leaving his heart and soul fractured. Novac gives him the serum to control the thing that tore his life apart.
Hydro - Apinya Ngam lives in a remote fishing village in Indonesia with her parents who taught her every day how to take care of herself. When a deadly Tsunami hits her village she is left alone and travels to the mainland in search of a new life after some interesting jobs and experiences she lands herself in prison where Novac gives her the serum to control the thing that caused her so much pain.
Forecast - William Dalton is a world-famous meteorologist who after freak incidents knows the true danger the climate can cause. Novac hears of his story and visits him to offer the serum. Dalton takes the serum knowing control the climate can do some good for the world.
Fear - An abandoned orphan who never really knows who he is finds himself in and out of prison after landing himself in again and on a much bigger sentence, he decides to make prison his home and intimidates the inmates and creates his own world using fear. One meeting with Novac and he knows exactly who he is and what he can control Fear.
Brain Wave- Rose Law is a renowned scientist who actively puts herself forward for the serum as she believes increasing her intelligence and the added abilities matched with her current ability will only benefit mankind, Novac agrees.
Senses- Lucie Van Berg is a hard working woman getting nowhere when she finds out a secret she never was meant to find out, she cracks and ends up behind bars. Novac meets her and feels sorry for her situation and decides to give her the serum and believes her emotions and passion will become an inspiration to others despite her crimes.
Techno- Andre Jordan is a computer geek who feels alone, no family or friends nobody at work even notices him. The one time he has noticed it results in him being put into a coma as he awakes Novac is there and offers him the serum to become one with technology as his injuries will soon make him just as much metal as a man. He takes the offer if only to stop the pain.
Nature - John Roach is a botanist struggling with schizophrenia but that doesn't stop his excellent work. Novac meets him and gives him the serum to give him even more ability around plant life and hopes it may help his schizophrenia.
Lights on- "with all this darkness we need a bit of light", Peter Bjornsson has been locked in solitary confinement for almost four years in one of the world's worst prisons for a crime he didn't commit. Novac is well aware of this prison and Peter as he has always wanted A Metahuman to be from this type of hell. Peter goes from extreme darkness to extreme light.
The Enemies
Black Skull- This is a man who is heard but never seen. Constantly plotting and trying to show the world their mistakes and punish them for it. He hates the Metahumans and wants them to suffer just as much.
The Cause- Ever felt alone, nothing but a number in a harsh world? The faceless give you that purpose and the chance to leave a mark on the world. Fighting against what they see wrong in the world and those who do wrong.
The Faceless- The most elite force of bounty hunters built for the purpose of pure annihilation of The Metahumans and those who support them.
Cavon- Novac's old colleague betrayed and alone in a foreign world. Fueled full of hatred and starved of oxygen is rescued before enacting his revenge on the man who ruined his life and his protectors.
Side Characters
Ace- Worked for Captech for ten years as head of security but with the creation of The Metahumans, she is reassigned and now supervises them, hands out missions and even aids on some missions due to her background in the Canadian special forces.
Frank Ince- Head of The FBI, he is not a fan of the Metahumans and believes they will bring more trouble to the world and so even though they are approved he always keeps an eye on them.
James Fleck- President of The United States, he is the bright new face of America his nickname is the new JFK. He approves of the Metahumans as he believes the risk of them actually doing good will see him going down in history as the most important U.S President.
Captech board- They are not fans of The Metahumans idea but their company has not been producing of late so out of desperation and also to shut Dr Novac up they approve of The Metahumans.
